Pompeii
Pompeii began as a Greek city, but Romans took over in the 6th century BC. This Roman city was covered in ashes when a volcano erupted in 79 AD. Archaeologist say it might be the oldest city found from the time AD. The volcano that erupted was called Mount Vesuvius, which has erupted about three dozen times after the eruption that destroyed Pompeii. The ash that fell from the volcano covered the city and suffocated people, but it preserved every thing. Archaeologist even found olives from back then that were still edible.
Thesis Statement
Pompeii is a Roman city that had a huge encounter with nature when a volcano erupted and flooded the city in ash. It was found by a farmer who exchanged the were a bouts with archaeologists. Then, the archaeologist set up an exploration through the city to advance the knowledge of Greek and Roman civilizations.
